Funded Projects

Era7 Bioinformatics is based in research. Thus, we are doing and have done many researchs projects. Some of them are partially funded and recognized by different Regional, National or International Agencies:

This project is funded in part by the Spanish CDTI (Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico Industrial) and is being and will be developed during 2012 and 2013.

The goal of the project is the development of a platform able to manage all the NGS sequence data and related data important in an outbreak.

 

The NEXTMICRO project includes the BG7 annotation system (See publication about BG7 in PLOS ONE) and new Cloud Computing pipelines and services specially designed or adapted to manage NGS outbreak data from hospital and community outbreaks.

 

This platform will improve our services for hospitals and health care institutions and will allow us to provide:

               -  Help in the design of the specific sequencing strategy

               -  Sequencing services

               -  Assembly and Functional rich Annotation based on BG7

               -  Cloud storage and management of the data

               -  Clinical environment adapted reports

               -  Help in the design of molecular diagnostic methods (MLST, PCR)

               -  Follow-up of the outbreak and sequencing of new related isolates if needed

The INTERCROSSING project is an ITN European Union project. In this project 13 Early Stage Researchers will learn about NGS, Cloud Computing and Population Genetics by means of the developing of a research project. Era7 Bioinformatics participates in this project hosting two ESRs that will work in new mathematical approaches for NGS data management using Cloud Computing.

The INTERCROSSING project started in 2012 and will last until 2015.

 

This project is carried out by a Consortium in which Era7 Bioinformatics is a partner. The Consortium is funded by the INNPACTO Program of the Ministerio de Economia y Competitividad.

The project goal is the development of a global vaccine against Brachyspira hyodysenteriae and Brachyspira pilosicoli by means of a bacterial genomics, proteomics and recombinant proteins production. Era7 bioinformatics task is the analysis of near one hundred bacterial genomes.
